What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website.
They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners.
Cookies help us understand how you use our platform, remember your preferences, and provide you with a better experience.
Transition to Cookieless Solution
Important Update
IMsupporting is transitioning to a cookieless architecture. While we currently use some cookies
for essential functionality, we are actively migrating to modern browser storage mechanisms that provide
better privacy, security, and user control.
As part of our commitment to privacy and compliance with evolving web standards, we are reducing our reliance
on traditional cookies. Many features that previously used cookies now utilize browser local storage and other
privacy-friendly technologies.
What this means for you:
- Enhanced privacy protection with data stored locally in your browser
- Greater control over your data with easier management and deletion
- Reduced third-party tracking and improved security
- Compliance with modern privacy regulations and browser standards
Browser Local Storage
In addition to (and increasingly instead of) cookies, IMsupporting uses browser local storage to store
information on your device. Local storage is a modern web technology that allows websites to store data
directly in your browser with better security and privacy characteristics than traditional cookies.
What We Store in Local Storage
- User Preferences: Theme settings (light/dark mode), language preferences, and interface customizations
- Session Data: Temporary information needed for the chat widget and dashboard functionality
- UI State: Dashboard layout preferences, collapsed/expanded panels, and view settings
- Performance Data: Cached data to improve loading times and reduce server requests

Managing Local Storage
You can view and delete local storage data at any time using your browser's developer tools:
- Chrome/Edge: F12 → Application tab → Local Storage
- Firefox: F12 → Storage tab → Local Storage
- Safari: Develop menu → Show Web Inspector → Storage tab
Clearing your browser data or cache will also remove all local storage data. Note that clearing this data
will reset your preferences and may require you to log in again.
How We Use Cookies
Note: As we transition to a cookieless solution, many of the functions listed below
are being migrated to browser local storage and other modern technologies. Traditional cookies are
increasingly being phased out in favor of more privacy-friendly alternatives.
Where cookies are still implemented, IMsupporting uses them for the following purposes:
- Essential Operations: To enable core functionality like user authentication, session management, and security features (being migrated to local storage)
- Performance & Analytics: To understand how visitors interact with our platform and improve our services (third-party services only)
- Functionality: To remember your preferences, such as theme selection (light/dark mode) and language settings (migrated to local storage)
- Security: To protect against malicious activities and ensure secure communication (limited use, primarily session-based)

Managing Your Cookies and Storage
You have the right to accept or reject cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies,
but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer.

However, as we transition to a cookieless solution, the impact of disabling cookies is decreasing.
