Hi all,

Due to a DDoS attack on one of our clients ( or at least appeared like one ) We have changed a few backend scripts to work faster.

No downtime was experienced as a result of the change.

One of our backend scripts used to a whois query on your visitors IP address, This is to gain details for your stats like country code lat/long etc.
This was hanging up the server when 1000's of querys per second were being sent.
This script has been modified to talk to a database rather than using a whois, This has increased the performance tenfold.
