Desktop notifications

Using HTML5 and the latest technology to help you

Desktop notifications are a great way to notify you and your support staff is a new chat session has come in and awaiting answer.

When you first login to the Live Chat console, You will be asked if IMsupporting can use desktop notifications on your system.
This means that when a new chat comes in, no matter what else you may be doing on your computer, a little popup notification will appear on your screen ( As seen in the screenshot to the right )

Desktop notifications are non intrusive and never used for any other reason other than to let you know if something requires your attention within the chat console.

Html5 notifications are currently only available on the following web browsers:

• Google Chrome
• Safari
• Firefox

We hope that one day Microsoft will implement this into Internet explorer.
